Welcome to the Chili Open

The North Canton Rotary Club of North Canton Ohio along with the Association of Independent Competitive Eaters is proud to announce the Mid-West Chili Eating Championship to occur on Feb 6th, 2010. This Championship Eating Extravaganza is part of the Rotary's popular annual fund raiser, "The Chill Open". Already known for it's fun events, such as "Golfing In the Snow", and the requirement that everybody have a great time, Rotary officials have "spiced things up" by continuing the fourth annual Mid-West Chili Eating Championship. According to AICE Chairman, Arnie "Chowhound" Chapman, who happens to hold the World Record In the five minute eating event, "The partnership between the folks from the North Canton Rotary Club and the Association of Independent Competitive Eaters Is a natural one; we both enjoy having fun and helping to raise money for charity". Organizers of the 2010 Chill Open are predicting 300 people in attendance. Although "Chowhound" would not comment on his role as Emcee or Eater at this event, he promises that this contest will include several top Echelon Eaters who will not only be bringing their "A-game" to North Canton but will also be bringing their love of fun which characterizes the Independent Competitive Eater".

Other Notes:
This will be a five minute contest, where Picnic Style rules will be strictly enforced. This Championship contest will feature Professional Eaters and local challengers. There will be prizes for the top three Eaters. On-line registration will soon be posted on http://www.competitiveeaters.com.

Contestants must be 18 or over to compete.
